After graduating from the School of Pharmacy in 1977, Dwight returned home to work in Deer Lake, the community where he was born and raised. He is a very active community volunteer and business leader.

Dwight is currently the Vice-President, Deer Lake Chamber of Commerce; Director, Deer Lake and Area Food Bank; Director, Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority; Director, Western Memorial Hospital Foundation; Vice-President, Canadian Pharmacists Association.

He is/has been involved in many other community groups and associations and is passionate about the district and its people.

Dwight believes the people of Humber Valley deserves a representative who is committed to work hard on their behalf, using his experience to ensure that we maximize on every opportunity of growth for the residents of the district.  Dwight was elected as the MHA for the District of Humber Valley on February 12, 2007.
