Birthday: August 10, 1981 (Western Memorial Regional Hospital)

Childhood: I am the only child to Kevin and Cassie Bourgeois. I was raised in a small town of about 1,200 people called Benoit’s Cove. Benoit’s Cove is located about10 minutes west of Corner Brook and is in the provincial riding of Bay of Islands and the federal riding of Humber-St. Barbe- Baie Verte. As a child I was highly involved in athletics such as hockey, soccer, and volleyball.

High School: I went to Regina High School in Corner Brook. Here I met and became friends with two other members of our association, Matt Wells and Rob Carlson. In high school I continued playing sports and took a very active role in community life at the school. I graduated from Regina in 1999.

University: I attended St. Thomas University in Fredericton, NB from 1999 - 2003. In 2003 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double major in Human Rights and History, minor in political science. I played soccer with the St. Thomas University Men’s Soccer team for four years, winning two Atlantic Championships. I was also actively involved with the Young Liberals of New Brunswick and the St. Thomas Human Rights Society.

Working Life: I have worked jobs in a variety of areas. I have done everything from general labour to research. I have coached youth soccer, worked in retail, security, sales and the service sector. While my political experience is limited, I did work quite extensively on the 2003 Provincial Election for Eddie Joyce in the Bay of Islands. I am currently working with the Opposition Office as a researcher while completing 4 courses at MUN that are required for me to meet the requirements for the Faculty of Education.

Interests: I love animals, I have a cat and a dog. I enjoy reading and being educated about politics, human rights, true crime, etc. I have been told that I speak my mind, especially on issues that are really important to me. I am still very active in sports.
