Judy Foote was sworn in as the MHA for
the District of Grand Bank this morning following the completion of a
judicial recount which reconfirmed her election night victory.
"I consider it a privilege to
represent the people of the District of Grand Bank. I am pleased that the
judicial recount has made is possible for me to continue to work to address
the concerns they bring to my attention," said Ms. Foote. It is an
honor to be elected for a third time and I thank all who make it possible
especially the many volunteers and my family. I know they were anxious
during the past month waiting for a decision and I am pleased they now get
to celebrate for a second time."
Foote has accepted new duties within the
Office of the Official Opposition. Opposition Leader Roger Grimes has
appointed her as critic for Industry, Trade and Rural Development and
Business. Ms. Foote served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural
Development with the Liberal government.
"I am looking forward to carrying
out my duties having served as minister responsible for the industry
portfolio. There are many opportunities in our province to move the economy
forward and I intent to work diligently and ensure the portfolio receives
the attention it deserves by the government especially the small business
sector," said Foote. |
